What is your Favourite Exercise and Why?
Everyone has got one – what’s yours?
Mine? The pullup. Why you ask? Pullups are one of the most beneficial overall muscle and strength developers. They are great exercise for the back (lats and traps), biceps, triceps, shoulders, and abdominals. But most importantly, when I first started going to the gym I could only do one, maybe two. And to be honest, my form wasn’t the greatest. I was swinging myself up, was my chin over the bar?
Probably not Definitely not. But I wanted to do more.
I asked tons of people how to get better at pull-ups – I heard everything from doing lots lat pull-downs to assisted pull-ups. But the best advice I ever got was “If you want to do more pull-ups, just do more pull-ups”
Practice makes perfect. Every time I stepped foot into the gym, I did pull-ups first. These days? I’m proud to say that I start my pull workouts with 4 sets of pull-ups, 8-10 reps.
