Falling Out of Your Fitness Routine?

Falling Out of Your Fitness Routine?

Those sun-rise runs are getting harder - aren't they?

Like it or not, summer is over. The kids are back in school, vacation time is gone, and there isn’t a long weekend in sight. Not to mention the days are getting shorter, the nights longer.

But what about your fitness routine? Are you already missing workouts? Too busy? Not motivated?  Not enough time for the gym?

If you answered “Yes” to any of the questions, it’s time for a change.

Changing your workout routine can be crucial to meeting your fitness goals.

During the summer months, I workout in the early mornings. Why? Because waking up at 5:30, or 6:00am for a workout is easier when the sun is already shining. I also like to spend my summer evenings outside either playing sports, hanging out at the beach, or lounging with friends (preferably on a patio).

Come fall and the winter months when the weather takes a turn for the worse, I prefer to workout in the evening. I struggle to keep to an early schedule when it’s dark, cold, raining or snowing – I’m sorry, I just do.

In the fall I switch my weekday workout routine upside down. Why? Because it fits my schedule and just works better for me.

Making fitness a part of your life isn’t about waking up every day for the rest of your life at the crack of dawn and getting a workout in. It’s about finding what works for you. And it’s okay if that changes. Change is a good thing!

Perhaps you still want to maintain your current workout schedule but are pressed for time? Don’t worry, up the intensity by decreasing your rest periods and you will be in, and out of the gym in no time.
